The Anabiosizers

sorry guys for the really long pause..

Now finally the Anabiosizers...

Anabiosis means reanimation after apparent death.

but in this case the death is long term thing...

well u see my passion for cars since Birth ( i guess ) got me introduced to a lot of people.
And these people got me introduced to some more. In this case of introductions i came across a guy called Ashish Naik (then a mechanic, Now very Good friend who takes care of my cars ). Well when we met he had just cleared his PolyTech Diploma in Auto Eng. and had join his dads Garage..he use to repair the 800s and the Santro and even some Crowns ( for ppl who are not automobliecally inclined , Crown is car made by toyota and does not mean like a kings crown ( over here) )and LandCruisers ( thts why he got himself the Diploma).. Suddenly one day some friend of his invited him to see the Love Bug ( an iconic Volkwagen Beetle Movie ) , and he fell in love with the Bug ..From that day onwards his journey as An Anabiosizer commenced . he first bought a 1967 Beetle ( scrap condition ) and then gave it a new life by restoring it. Well it was definately not restored in a highly professional manner (pocket had a lot of holes ) , but the car ran well and actually better the Beetles which underwent expensive and high end restoration. The First Beetle had a lovely orange color..( sorry no pic so plz imagine it). Then he sold it off bought another one and restored it , this time it was a 1200cc 1961, painted it white ( no picture again , so you know what to do).

and then he bought another one and the one after that..
All this while a lot of people had noticed this . They realized that you need not just dream about owning these rare beauties (restoration and maintaining is expensive.), buying a scrap and restoring  in within the tight budget is actually possible . Hence they started fulfilling their dreams with the help of Mr. Naik. Ashish brought to the table, a possibility to restore these beauties, with a small budget , into a daily use car.
Well he didn't buy original seats from Bangkok or order them from Germany , but would retrofit the Daewoo Matiz seats in a Beetle.
Get his fabricator to replicate fresh sets of fenders for the Austin , use a old fiat headlight for a Vauxhal (and you cant make out the difference) etc.
The whole point is that he made the dream of owning and driving vintage cars for a common man , come true and he has made this, his profession.
Now one can acutually go ahead and bring back to life , late grand pa's kissing car, without spending a bomb.. all thanks to mr.Naik and to somebody else out there like him (if there is some1 like him that is ).
Now you dont have to be from a royal family nor have a last name that spells M-A-L-L-Y-A...you could be a shah , vagamare , singh , vichare, d'souza or someone with / without any last name too , and still afford to get ur self one of these Old Golds..just head straight to santacruz east and keep a look out for these old timers ( ask anyone in santacruz east and they will direct you -ask - where can i find ram pyari )..so i salute and give my respect to Ashish and Guys like him ,  who get these old babies back to life..
Cheers to all the Anabiosizers in the House.
If you would like to get in touch with ashish to make ur dream come true let me know.

The car in these snaps is a fully restored 1961, 1200cc Beetle
